About Holy Angels

The Holy Angels School is an elementary and middle school on the south side of Chicago, serving nearly 1,000 primarily low-income, African-American students.  Students from the Kellogg School of Management and Northwestern School of Law have been volunteering at Holy Angels since 2000, and the co-chairs work closely with Holy Angels' Board of Directors and the Children's Inner City Education Fund to identify and act on new opportunities for Kellogg students to contribute to the school.

The Holy Angels School is committed to providing high quality education that incorporates the fine arts, sports, after-school programming, counseling, and parenting education and support, while maintaining one of the lowest private/parochial school tuition rates on Chicago's south side.  The Kellogg and Northwestern Law School volunteers play an important part in bringing diverse perspectives and experiences to the Holy Angels students, and an opportunity for both students and volunteers to have fun and learn from each other.  Substantial organizational and financial assistance is provided to the Holy Angels School through the Children's Inner City Education Fund (CICEF), a non-profit organization launched by John Canning, Chairman and CEO of Madison Dearborn Partners, to provide educational support to Chicago area elementary and secondary schools.
