Kellogg is one of the top marketing schools in the world but offers other best in class departments. Poets & Quants named us as one of the best business schools for start-ups; we also host one of the best family business centers in the world. Students desire additional sections of popular courses and input from the large business world to build inclusive leadership skills. The top academic areas we will focus on are:
This may be recording classes, virtual methods of engagement, or asynchronous learning. We have a tremendous opportunity to codify what did work so that we can continue to be best in class.
A topic I see routinely asked in Slack, “If I am interested in x career, what classes should I be taking?” While courses may change over time, it would be helpful to the student body to know what classes would help prepare them for a career in technology versus those essential for private equity. We could work with our alumni and recruiting firms to establish these recommended lists.
TCEs are used in part for professor evaluations. They have also may have varying levels of helpfulness as we move from virtual to in-person classes. I hope to work with administration to identify a plan to ensure that we differentiate reviews for in-person versus virtual course offerings in while also respecting the professors’ annual review.
Let's grow not only accessibility to course offerings but additional supports for our respective academic center, such as the Family Enterprise Institute.
