kFAB's primary mission is to cultivate a strong and engaged food & ag community. One way in which we accomplish this goal is by organizing professional and social events. Here are some of our common types of events:
Small Group Dinners: kFAB is known for its legendary potlucks and tasting nights, which are often shared over small group dinners between members of our community or in partnership with other clubs on campus. We use this time to catch up with one another, taste emerging brands, and discuss the latest trends.
Tours of Local Establishments: kFAB is constantly looking for ways to take advantage of our proximity to Chicago and get to know the local food scene. Recent outings have included touring the Lincoln Park Green City Market and the McDonalds HQ in West Loop.
Chicago MBA Food/Ag Investment Pitch Competition: kFAB partners with the Booth School of Business FEAD Club to host a Food & Agribusiness VC investment case competition. Teams work together to solve complex case challenges and present their findings to judges from prominent VC firms such as S2G, Impact Engine, Cultivian Sandbox, and Bluestein Ventures.
Lunch & Learns: kFAB is proud to have hosted a variety of CEOs and other industry experts within the food and ag industries for intimate lunch & learns with Kellogg students. Recent speakers have included Jake Karls (co-founder of Mid-Day Squares), Darin Perry (CEO of Rise Wellness), Karuna Rawal (former CMO of Nature's Fund), and more!
