kFAB's Professional Development Team leads a variety of informational sessions to educate kFAB members on the food and agribusiness ecosystem. Here are some of our cornerstone educational events:
Cross-Functional Internship Panels: Every fall, kFAB hosts Kellogg second-years who spent their summer internships working in a variety of roles/functions across the food & ag value chain. Our most recent panel included speakers who had roles in grocery retail, brand management, early-stage startups, venture capital, and private equity operations.
Lunch & Learns: Throughout the year, kFAB brings in knowledgeable speakers from various parts of the food and ag value chain to speak about relevant trends over lunch hour. Recent topics have included the rise of protein's popularity in food & bev, the importance of authentic storytelling in scaling a brand, and changing consumer preferences around dairy.
Local treks: Throughout the year, the kFAB team plans treks to local organizations and businesses to learn more about trends and opportunities in the Chicago area. Recent local treks have included a tour of the Lincoln Park Green City Market and Green Era, a facility that turns food waste into renewable energy.
