KFIT Cycling Club - Group Ride to Milwaukee

Come ride with the Kellogg Cycling Club for our biggest route of the quarter! We are changing things up from our standard 20-mile loops and heading north—all the way north. The Plan: We’re rolling out on Saturday at 8:00 AM sharp from the Arch and riding straight through to Milwaukee. This is roughly an 80-mile route. Once we hit Milwaukee, we’ll celebrate with a late lunch and well-earned beers at a local brewery before catching the train back. What You’re Getting Into: Pace & Fitness: This is a long/ quick ride. We will be riding continuously at a solid clip, so you need to be comfortable in the saddle for 80 miles at 15 MPH + If you’re excited about putting down serious miles, this is the group for you. The Return: We’ll take the 5:45 PM Amtrak Hiawatha back down. Crucial detail: You must book your train ticket and the add-on bike reservation in advance, as bike spots on the Hiawatha sell out quickly. We will take it to Glenview and ride the ~10 miles back to Evanston. What to Bring: Your ID, a Helmet, two large water bottles, and plenty of on-bike nutrition/snacks to fuel an 80-mile effort. Bring at least one spare tube, and if you have one, a pump/CO2 so we can handle flats quickly and safely. Optionally A change of shirt or light layer for the brewery/train ride home. Bike lights for the ride from Glenview would be smart.
