From Idea to Investment: The AI Startup Journey Through Founder and VC Lenses

What does it really take to turn an idea into a product, a company, and eventually a scalable venture? Join the evening/weekend Kellogg AI Club for a candid founder and investor conversation featuring Sherif Badawy, Founder of Dar Baklava, Aswin Andrison, Founder of LumiBot, and Bryan Liu from Alumni Ventures. This session will explore the entrepreneurial journey from multiple angles: identifying a real customer problem, building early traction, learning from the market, navigating uncertainty, and understanding how investors evaluate opportunities. While LumiBot brings an AI startup perspective, Dar Baklava adds a valuable non-AI founder lens with highly transferable lessons on product-market fit, distribution, customer adoption, and scaling. We’ll also hear from the VC side on what investors look for in founders, markets, traction, and long-term potential. Whether you are building a startup, exploring AI product ideas, curious about venture capital, or simply interested in how founders move from concept to execution, this conversation will offer practical and honest insights.
