Geishas and Samurais, konnichiwa!!,
Where did the quarter go? Exams? Ski Trip? (Samurai, remember to buy an extra sword for skiing) But let’s not forget there’s still some eating to be done!! Winter makes us all fat, including making the same delicious fish we enjoy for sushi even tastier. Check out the opportunity below to join some Kelloggers and a sushi chef for a night of great tastes. As we move into our final few weeks, don’t forget to put on your Hachimaki for good luck when studying hard for those finals.

Ganbatte Kudasai! Please do your best!

Fresh soba flour is fall's precious prize "The obsession with fresh, seasonal food in Japan extends to things that you may not even think of as having seasons, such as dried flour. Shin-soba-ko (new fall-harvest buckwheat flour, used in soba noodles) is eagerly anticipated every year by Japanese gourmets. While soba flour has two harvests, one from June to July and another from September to November, the fall crop is held in higher regard." (link)

Japanese Economy Shrinks "Japan’s economic situation fails to improve. A year-on-year drop of 3.5% in the gross domestic product (GDP) is causing a headache for Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda’s government. Though there are possible partial solutions, many of Japan’s woes are outside the control of the government and the fiscal authorities." (link)
The Death Blog: Pleas for Japan’s Most Infamous Blogger To Stop "Japanese actress Aki Higashihara writes a blog—a blog that has been nicknamed the "Death Blog". It's called the "Death Blog" after Japanese manga Death Note, because her track record has not been good. Well, it's been good at causing bad things, such as the death of the Nintendo Wii." (link)
