Dear Geishas and Samurais,

Thank you all very much for coming to our booth during the Asian Food Festival TG last week! We are sure we all had lots of fun, preparing, advertising, serving and finally tasting colorful sushi and pork soup. We would like to give another BIG round of applause to the winner, Team Korea!

In this issue, we want to introduce some events:  if you have interests in working at McKinsey Asia Pacific offices or Amazon.com China or Japan, see the career section. If you have a kid at the age of 3, 5 or 7, ask your Japanese friend about how to traditionally celebrate his/her healthy growth!!

Shichigosan and the thousand years candy

Shichigosan (7-5-3) is a rite of passage ceremony for kids in Japan. It’s held on November 15th and as the name suggests, it’s for kids turning 7, 5, and 3 years old. For boys, it’s held when they’re 3 and 5; for girls, 3 and 7. It’s a festival that celebrates their reaching middle childhood.
