Healthcare Community Pods

Introduced in 2023, the Healthcare Community Pod Program is an new initiative that organizes students interested in healthcare into small groups of 6-8 individuals, aligned with specific healthcare industry sectors such as payer, provider, life sciences, or digital health. Its aim is to establish robust social and professional connections among healthcare students. Case Competitions

Biotech and Healthcare Case Competition

Each year, teams of students from top business schools around the world compete to win a top price of $5,000.

Poets and Quants has recognized the event on its list of Top 20 Global Case Competitions.

In recent years, schools including Berkeley Haas, Chicago Booth, Dartmouth Tuck, Duke Fuqua, Harvard, INSEAD, Michigan Ross, Oxford Said, UCLA Anderson, and Wharton have competed in the event.

Teams receive a case and will then have seven days to prepare a presentation based on the information in the case. The case focuses on a complex healthcare question; previous topics have ranged from forecasting sales of a new molecule to considering how best to reduce childhood mortality due to pneumonia in Uganda.

The case competition weekend kicks off with an informal dinner. The following day, teams present to a panel of judges. There is a case debrief session at the end of the day, followed by dinner and an awards ceremony. Participants can also attend the Kellogg Business of Healthcare Conference held the same day.

Applications are typically due in November. Teams should have 3, 4 or 5 members. Part-time and full-time students can apply. All team members must be students in graduate programs, with at least 2 members of each team enrolled in an MBA program.

You can find more information about the competition here.
