Prof. Watson teaches analytics and optimization course for Master of Engineering Management (MEM) and Master of Science in Analytics (MSiA) at the Industrial Engineering and Management Science department of Northwestern.
He has also been an entrepreneur who built multiple successful startups of Analytics/Optimization/AI solutions.
The Managerial Analytics book he co-authored is available on Amazon.

"I'm looking forward to the talk tomorrow. I'll cover some concepts from the book. And, since the AI movement took off after the book was published, I'll have a lot of material on AI that I think you'll find interesting. This is material that would go into a future version of the book.
In addition, I would be happy to discuss what it takes to start a data science company. I co-founded Opex Analytics in 2013. We started with no employees, bootstrapped it to up to 80 people and $14.3M in revenue by 2018. In 2019, we were up to ~140 employees with revenue keeping pace with that when we were acquired by LLamasoft. That deal was half cash and half equity. LLamasoft was then acquired in late 2020 for $1.5B to Coupa Software. I had a front row seat for all of that and would be happy to talk about it."
