An Evening with Master Sommelier Alpana Singh: On how to read a wine list and female entrepreneurship

Alpana Singh is the youngest female master sommelier, having passed the notoriously rigorous final test (which has a 3% pass rate) at the age of 26. To date, she is one of only 23 female master sommeliers. She is also an incredibly successful restaurateur and owns and operates The Boarding House, Seven Lions and Terra and Vine in the Chicagoland area. In this session, Alpana will discuss her decorated background in business and being a woman in a male-dominated industry. Simultaneously she will take us through a tasting of four wines while describing how to select wines from a menu and properly pair them with food.
