The ESCI 1 & 2 workshops are the second cohort-specific workshops after Courageous Conversations and are offered in your second quarter. At Kellogg, we view feedback as an invaluable tool for growth and development. The ESCI assessment and workshops build on this philosophy by providing a structured opportunity to gather meaningful insights from those who know you best.

Before attending the ESCI 1 workshop, you will complete a self-assessment and gather feedback from colleagues, supervisors, direct reports and peers using the ESCI 360-degree assessment tool administered by the third-party organization Korn Ferry. A report will be generated providing insights into your emotional and social competencies from multiple perspectives.

During the ESCI 1 & 2 workshops, you will explore your assessment results, gaining a clear understanding of your strengths and areas for development. Additionally, you will create a personal development plan outlining specific actions and goals to enhance your emotional and social competencies.

The 360-degree leadership assessment called Emotional Social Competency Inventory is the beginning of your Kellogg Leadership Journey. A foundation of effective leadership is self-awareness of strengths and vulnerabilities, as well as understanding how others view your leadership capability. Because it all starts with self-awareness, the ESCI assessment and workshops provide you the opportunity to identify your current strengths and opportunities for improvement as a leader. The Emotional Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) assessment provides feedback in the four domains of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. It consists of a self-assessment component and rater-solicited feedback.
