kFAB's Professional Development Team leads a variety of informational sessions to educate kFAB members on the food and agribusiness ecosystem. Here are some of our cornerstone educational events:
Food & Ag Value Chain 101: In this introductory session, we provide deep dives on key 'links' in the food & ag value chain, including ag inputs, farmers/producers, ingredients/processors, CPG/brands, distributors, and retail/foodservice. We offer detailed descriptions of each sector, discuss current challenges and opportunities, cover legacy and challenger companies, and explain typical post-MBA job opportunities.
Cross-Functional Internship Panels: Every fall, kFAB hosts Kellogg second-years who spent their summer internships working in a variety of roles/functions across the food & ag value chain. Our most recent panel included speakers from Cargill, Impossible Foods, FoodSmart, Apeel, and Nestle.
Food Industry Recruiting Bootcamp: Going into on-campus recruiting season, kFAB holds a 2-hour food industry bootcamp focused on interview readiness, company targeting, and industry and function-specific considerations.
Lunch & Learns: Throughout the year, kFAB brings in knowledgeable speakers from various parts of the food and ag value chain to speak about relevant trends over lunch hour. Recent topics have included emerging food tech trends, the future of cannabis product innovation, and the use of crop science to save bananas from extinction.
