Past Events this quarter
McManus Information Technology upgrades Please take advantage of the new multi-function devices available in the McManus Resource Room. You can scan to PDF, copy, and starting Spring quarter you will be able to print to these devices.
As always, lockout assistance during office hours will not incur any charges. McManus residents locked out of their apartments/rooms after office hours will get one courtesy (no charge) opening of their doors per quarter. Any additional lockouts during that quarter will incur a $5 charge. The resident can pay this charge at the time of the lockout or before the end of the quarter. A reminder from the Office of Student Affairs will be placed in the resident's mailbox. All lock-out fees will be donated to the Evanston Animal Shelter. Reminder: Cooking Smoke You are cooking and accidentally burn something, causing a large amount of smoke - what do you do? 1) Open all windows in your apartment and turn the apartment A/C on. This will allow fresh air to come in and will force smoke to go out through your windows. 2) Please don't open your apartment door to let your cooking smoke out. It will trigger the building fire alarm in the corridor. This will then cause a building-wide alarm and force all residents to evacuate the building.
We are not permitted to smoke in McManus or our apartments, even if a window is open. The smoke still travels into the hallways and into our neighbor's apartments. Northwestern University Housing has a no-smoking policy and it aligns with Illinois state law. Smoking is strictly prohibited within McManus or within 25 ft from any entrance or vent. Violation of the no-smoking policy incurs penalties, up to and including removal from University Housing. Thank you for your respectful compliance. As you may be aware, CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) bus and rail service changes have taken effect on February 7, 2010. Please see the attachment and this website for more information.
The deliverymen drop off all newspapers (WSJ, FT, Tribune, etc) in the lobby. As a reminder, the Kellogg Honor Code applies to McManus as it does everywhere at Kellogg. Please respect your neighbors and do not take a copy if you did not subscribe. Past Events New Year's Eve Party We had a great time ringing in the New Year!
