Hitting Session (link to sign-up at bottom of email). We are hosting a hitting session this Wednesday, so be sure to come out from 4:30-6:00pm to the Vandy Christie Tennis Center! Hitting sessions consist of lessons (NOT this week), small group play, and matches, depending on the week and turnout. Be sure to bring your own racquets and water.
We have a small number of temporary racquets available on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you need one please contact Stephanie at eckhardt.steph@gmail.com.

Tennis FAQ
Where are the closest courts to Jacobs? There are two options: outdoor and indoor courts.
Outdoor: Vandy Christie Tennis Center has 15 outdoor courts. There is no fee for playing on these courts and no reservations are necessary. The south six courts are generally used by the Northwestern varsity teams while the remaining nine are for general use. Located at 2310 Sheridan Road, these courst are located on the northwest corner of Noyes and Sheridan.
Indoor: SPAC (the NU gym further north of Jacobs) has 6 indoor courts. The fee is $10-$12 / court / hour and reservations, which can be booked up to a day in advance, are recommended as the courts are often used for team practice or lessons. The phone number for SPAC is (847) 491-4300. Also, there are free walk-ons every Tuesday and Thursday mornings and these courts are available first-come, first-serve if you prefer not to make a paid reservation. http://www.fitrec.northwestern.edu/facilities/crown/directions.html
Do I need to bring a racquet to the hitting sessions? Generally, yes. The club will try to make a small number of racquets available for one-off situations but in general, players should bring their own racquets.
How can I find someone to play with outside of hitting sessions? Join our Facebook group! Post a comment stating your level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and find new players to play with! http://www.fitrec.northwestern.edu/facilities/crown/directions.html
Where can I get a racquet restrung or buy a racquet? The Kellogg Tennis Club officially endorses Your Advantage Tennis Shop as our preferred stringer. Your Advantage Tennis Shop in Northfield restrings racquets at competitive prices. Other alternatives include: SPAC offers racquet restringing ~$30 including the string and labor. Sports Authority (~5mi west on Dempster) restrings racquets for about the same price and also sells racquets and other equipment.
