The Lavin Bernick Executive Chat series gives Kellogg students an opportunity to engage with an esteemed executive or civic leader presenting his or her perspectives on leadership. The sessions are dialogue-driven, and informal, with a limited number of seats available at each session. They provide an intimate forum for in-depth conversations and student interaction.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • This session is open to FT & EW Kellogg MBA students.
  • Your registration indicates your interest to attend.
  • 25 Attendees will be selected using a lottery system in accordance with event capacity.
  • If randomly selected, you will be notified via email and required to re-confirm that you will attend within 24 hours.
  • If you need to cancel your registration, please do so before registration closes

This chat will be held in-person at the Kellogg Global Hub. Once re-confirmed, selected students will receive room location details via an outlook invitation.

Greg Lyons is the Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA), where he leads the strategic, communications and innovation agenda across PepsiCo’s $21 billion beverage portfolio in the U.S. (2021). The portfolio includes iconic brands like Pepsi, MTN DEW, Gatorade, Starbucks ready-to-drink coffee, LIFEWTR, Lipton, Pure Leaf, and Rockstar Energy.

Since stepping into the role of CMO in 2017, Greg has transformed the beverage portfolio by implementing a holistic portfolio strategy and innovation framework that both ensures future business success for existing brands, while accelerating growth in new categories.

The portfolio includes iconic brands like Pepsi, MTN DEW, Gatorade, Starbucks ready-to-drink coffee, LIFEWTR, Lipton, Pure Leaf, and Rockstar Energy.

Since stepping into the role of CMO in 2017, Greg has transformed the beverage portfolio by implementing a holistic portfolio strategy and innovation framework that both ensures future business success for existing brands, while accelerating growth in new categories. He has delivered more than $1B in innovation in recent years, has led brand Pepsi to achieve 18 consecutive quarters of growth, and also played a key role in launching STARRY, PBNA’s newest lemon-lime flavored soda.

A 23-year PepsiCo veteran, Greg previously led the MTN DEW and Energy portfolio, served as the CMO of PepsiCo’s Canadian Beverage business, and was the lead of the Marketing department for the Walkers business in the UK and Ireland.

Greg serves on the Board of Directors for the North American Coffee Partnership (JV with Starbucks and PepsiCo), the Board of Directors for the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), the Adweek Steering Committee, and the Time @100 Advisory Board. Greg is also active in his community serving on the Board of Directors for the Ridgefield Boys & Girls Club.  He holds a BA in Economics from Amherst College and an MBA in Marketing & Management and Strategy from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.

Greg keeps a full house in Ridgefield, CT with his wife Beth, his two children Molly and Jack, his stepchildren Crawford and Max, two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Luke and Ellie, and a pandemic kitten, Moo.
