Business operation involves extracting maximum value from all types of assets (tangible & intangible), in order to maximize benefit to the firm. Interaction with Operations is inevitable for any functional role you take up in a company. And let's face it, Operations is also just super interesting!
To tell us more about this, we have Professor Chaithanya Bandi, sharing some thoughts and insight with us over lunch. Some of the specific examples he will touch upon will be in the healthcare, fantasy sports and ecommerce space, so stay tuned!
About Professor Bandi:
He has rich industrial experience, having worked with technology and financial services companies such as Yahoo, Bell Labs, Lehman Brothers, and Investment Technology Group. He is broadly interested in the problems of decision making under uncertainty, incomplete information and risk with applications to operations management. In particular, he has focused on developing robust optimization based models to formulate key problems in applications such as queueing control, risk optimization, mechanism design, and online algorithms.
