Mr. Macejko came to Kellogg school from the private equity industry having worked at Madison Dearborn Partners for several years, and after Kellogg returned to MDP. After 12 more years in the private equity industry, investing in and advising a number of firms he chose to switch from investor to operator. He is now part of the team that runs the iconic Chicago firm Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, as their CFO. You are invited to join us for a fireside chat with Mr. Macejko and Professor Petersen on the evolving state of private equity, the attraction of being an investor versus a financial operator, and advice on preparing for a career managing the finance's and operation's from inside a firm. BIO: Tom earned an A.B. from Dartmouth College where he majored in economics and an M.B.A from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is the Chief Financial Officer of Lou Malnati's Pizzeria. Previously he was a Managing Director on the Consumer team at Madison Dearborn Partners, a Chicago-based private-equity firm. He is a former director on the Boards of Things Remembered, Yankee Candle, Bolthouse Farms and Magellan Midstream Partners. Tom and his wife, Amanda, live in Winnetka and have three sons.
