Want to learn how to compost and start a garden? Join the PTMBA Net Impact chapter and the Kellogg Student Parents club for a day of gardening education and picnic in the park!
What?
- Workshop covering vermicomposting, seed starting and square foot gardening; you even get to take home your very own seed starting kit!
- Tour of their Global Garden, where we can see the local community garden in action.
- Picnic in Ravenswood Manor park where you can kick back and relax. Kids can swing, slide, run and jump to their hearts content.
- Lunch will be provided! We'll have lunchboxes from Whole Foods Sauganaush, one of Peterson Garden's partners. Pack your favorite picnic blanket and any other picnic snacks and drinks you’d like to bring.
When? Saturday, June 22nd from 10:30am - 1pm.

More about The Peterson Garden Project
The Peterson Garden Project is a not-for-profit, plot-to-plate resource organization looking to teach everyone to grow their own food. The Project currently manages seven community gardens enjoyed by 2,650 gardeners in the Chicago area. Supported by 520 volunteers, Peterson Garden aims to recruit, educate and and inspire the new generation of gardeners who want to grow their own food and build communities, one tomato at a time.
