If you have a start-up concept or are interested in running a start-up you need to attend this event. Troy Henikoff, CEO and Co-founder, of Excelerate Labs will present on Tuesday, January 15th from 5-6pm at Wieboldt Hall. He will discuss the Chicago start-up environment and the role of his incubator, Excelerate Labs.

Excelerate Labs is an intensive summer accelerator for startups driven by proven entrepreneurs and investors. Led by world class entrepreneurs Sam Yagan (OKCupid, Sparknotes) and Troy Henikoff (SurePayroll), the program is unique in attracting scores of mentors from around the country to work with the teams in direct 1-on-1 meetings.

Excelerate Labs has launched 20 companies and created over 120 net new jobs: All in less than 24 months. Those companies have raised over $25 million in outside capital as of August 2012 and Forbes ranked Excelerate as one of the "10 Hottest Startup Incubators".

In addition to Troy's role at Excelerate he teaches Entrepreneurship at Northwestern University, is on the board of the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center and an advisor to Hyde Park Angels. His last 25 years have been spent starting, running and advising early stage technology companies.
