Chris Gladwin is the founder and former CEO of Cleversafe, which sold to IBM for $1.3 billion late last year in Chicago's largest ever tech exit. Chris founded Cleversafe with the intention of overcoming traditional data storage limitations in a world brimming with data. The company's software is the foundation of many of the largest data storage systems worldwide. Cleversafe's technology is used to store many of the files, maps, songs, television programs, phtographs, and movies you use every day. The company created one of the 10 most powerful patent portfolios in the world. Prior to Cleversafe, Chris founded and lead the first digital music service provider, MusicNow, and wireless tablet computer company, Cruise Technologies. Chris is an engineering graduate from MIT and is a member of the Illinois Tech Board of Trustees.

Chris is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Ocient, a new technology company in Chicago.

Following a special introduction by Larry Levy, '66, '67 MBA, Trustee, founder with his wife Carol of the Larry and Carol Levy Institute for Entrepreneurial Practice, Chris will talk about what it takes to run a successful startup from conception to exit and the struggles faced along the way.
