This spring, the Kellogg Veterans Association will host its 5th Annual Dining Out celebration! In the military, Dining Out is a time-honored tradition where service members, along with their spouses and friends, gather to celebrate tradition and build camaraderie. This year, we’re excited to host our event at The Crystal Ballroom here in Evanston—offering an elevated dining experience and an incredible evening with students, alumni, veterans, and friends of the community.

We’re also honored to welcome COL(Ret) Brendan Dunne as our President of the Mess and guest speaker!

Tickets go live on March 31st – stay in the loop by joining #kva-dining-out-2026 for updates.

This event is open to everyone—so grab a seat, raise a glass, and join us for an unforgettable evening!

Brendan Dunne

Cofounder, Head of Public Sector

Lovelace AI

Colonel (Retired) Brendan Dunne recently retired after a distinguished career of active-duty service in the US Army, continuing a family tradition of public service dating back to the Spanish-American War of 1898.  As a longstanding member of the 75th Ranger Regiment and other special operations units, Brendan continually deployed over the past two decades in support of both the Global War on Terrorism and Overseas Contingency Operations serving in a variety of Command and other key leadership positions.

Brendan has worked extensively with US Interagency, Law Enforcement, and Coalition Partners on a variety of national security issues throughout his career. Before retiring, he was the Director of the Global Analytics Platform, a leading Department of Defense software development initiative aimed at “employing data as a weapon system.”

Brendan holds an MBA from Kellogg and a finance degree from the College of New Jersey. To remain focused on his passion, he co-founded Lovelace AI, an artificial intelligence startup, where he serves as Head of Public Sector.

Brendan is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems from the University of Maryland as part of its inaugural class. His goal is to equip the US government with advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to revolutionize how threats to national security are detected, analyzed, and mitigated.
