Gary Kennedy '80 has held many leadership roles throughout his career, but most notably as President of Oracle USA. On May 16th, Gary will speak to 25 students in an off-the-record discussion on leadership practices in the C-suite and how he overcame hurdles in his career.

The Lavin Bernick Executive Chats series gives Kellogg students an opportunity to engage with an esteemed executive or civic leader presenting his or her perspectives on leadership. The sessions are meant to be dialogue-driven, and informal, with a limited number of seats available at each session. They provide an intimate forum for in-depth conversations. This session is open to full-time Kellogg students.

Gary Kennedy held various management and executive positions at Oracle Corporation from 1982 until 1990, culminating as President of Oracle USA where he reported directly to Larry Ellison. He was one of the first handful of employees of Oracle, and helped transform the business from a $1 million business to a $1 billion enterprise.
Most recently Gary was Chairman and CEO of Willowstick Technologies, a product company using its patented technology to map, model, and predict groundwater paths and patterns via electromagnetic waves. He is also the majority owner and Managing Partner of Double Eagle Ventures, a private venture fund targeting early stage investments. Double Eagle Ventures has been the seed stage investor in TenFold, Overstock.com, iDirect, Neumont University, Imagine Learning, American School Academy, Kanab Hills, and Remedy Informatics.
Gary has served as Founder, CEO, investor and President of a number of other software startups, public companies, and organizations. He holds a B.A. in finance from the University of Utah and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
