Details

The Lavin Bernick Executive Chat series gives Kellogg students an opportunity to engage with an esteemed executive or civic leader presenting his or her perspectives on leadership. The sessions are dialogue-driven, and informal, with a limited number of seats available at each session. They provide an intimate forum for in-depth conversations and student interaction.

SELECTION PROCESS

  • This session is open to FT & EW Kellogg MBA students.
  • Your registration indicates your interest to attend.
  • 25 Attendees will be selected using a lottery system in accordance with event capacity.
  • If randomly selected, you will be notified via email and required to re-confirm that you will attend within 24 hours.
  • If you need to cancel your registration, please do so before registration closes

This chat will be held in-person at the Kellogg Global Hub. Once re-confirmed, selected students will receive room location details via an outlook invitation.

Jon is the Chief Executive Officer of AIM13 and Chair of the firm’s Investment Committee and Board of Managers. He leads the firm’s investment management activities and overall strategic direction of the firm.  

Jon will speak with 25 students in an off-the-record discussion, where he'll share leadership best practices from his extensive experience.

Jon is the Chief Executive Officer of AIM13 and Chair of the firm’s Investment Committee and Board of Managers. He leads the firm’s investment management activities and overall strategic direction of the firm.  

Prior to joining the firm, Jon managed private investments for J.I. Harris & Associates. Previously, he worked for Goldman Sachs in the firm’s Investment Management Services Group and spent time in its Investment Banking Division in London. Earlier in his financial services career, Jon served as a principal investment analyst for Madison Dearborn Partners, the private equity firm based in Chicago.  Jon also served as Deputy to the Vice-Presidential Campaign Manager for the Dole-Kemp Presidential Campaign in 1996. Prior to that role, he was responsible for the majority party’s issues on the International Finance Subcommittee of the U.S. Senate’s Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.  

Jon’s investment committee involvement has included the University of Michigan endowment’s Investment Advisory Committee, the Polk Brothers Foundation, the Pritzker Family Foundations, and the Jewish Communal Fund.  Additionally, Jon serves on the board of the Child Mind Institute, the advisory board of the Kellogg Finance Network, and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business Private Equity Council. Jon is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.  

Jon’s involvement with UJA Federation of New York has included roles as Co-Chair of the Annual Campaign, member of the Board, member of the Strategic Council of the Wall Street Division, and Co-Chair of the Investment Management Division. Jon has also served on the board for The Taft School and on the Leadership Council for the Robin Hood Foundation.  

Jon earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
