The Lavin Bernick Executive Chat series gives Kellogg students an opportunity to engage with an esteemed executive or civic leader presenting his or her perspectives on leadership. The sessions are dialogue-driven, and informal, with a limited number of seats available at each session. They provide an intimate forum for in-depth conversations and student interaction.
SELECTION PROCESS
- This session is open to FT & EW Kellogg MBA students.
- Your registration indicates your interest to attend.
- 25 Attendees will be selected using a lottery system in accordance with event capacity.
- If randomly selected, you will be notified via email and required to re-confirm that you will attend within 24 hours.
- If you need to cancel your registration, please do so before registration closes
This chat will be held in-person at the Kellogg Global Hub. Once re-confirmed, selected students will receive room location details via an outlook invitation.

Pete Thompson is a Kellogg School of Management alum, Class of ‘96. He is currently involved in a range of activities including consulting for the CMO Consulting Group, Senior Advisor for 25 Madison, an AI incubator, Board Member of TomTom, a Dutch-based location technology service provider, and aspiring author completing his first adventure thriller novel to be published later this year. Previously, he was the SVP & Chief Product Officer of eBay where he led the product and engineering experience, making the shopping journey simple, personalized and discovery-based, while providing the enhanced AI tools and insights that help eBay sellers succeed.
Pete will speak with 25 students in an off-the-record discussion, where he'll share leadership best practices from his extensive experience.

Pete Thompson is a Kellogg School of Management alum, Class of ‘96. Previously, he was the SVP & Chief Product Officer of eBay where he led the product and engineering experience, making the shopping journey simple, personalized and discovery-based, while providing the enhanced AI tools and insights that help eBay sellers succeed. Pete also launched and managed the P&L for eBay’s advertising and payments businesses growing revenues over a billion dollars for each. He brings more than 20 years of experience in building new products and services across a range of industries and technologies. Before joining eBay, Pete was Vice President of Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service where he led the developer business to integrate Alexa on third party devices. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer of TiVo where he drove the merger and integration between Rovi and TiVo. Prior to joining TiVo, he held executive roles at a variety of companies, including Microsoft, T-Mobile, Ericsson, and Sonos. Some of the innovative products and services Pete helped to launch include HP OfficeJet, T-Mobile HotSpot, Microsoft Surface, Xbox LIVE and Kinect, and Amazon Alexa. He has previously served on the Boards of Sigma Designs (SIGM), E.W. Scripps (SSP), Cadent advanced TV advertising, and Seawell Networks. Pete loves outdoor adventures. He enjoys carving out time for skiing, golfing, scuba diving, fly fishing and hiking.
