The Lavin Bernick Executive Chat series gives Kellogg students an opportunity to engage with an esteemed executive or civic leader presenting his or her perspectives on leadership. The sessions are dialogue-driven, and informal, with a limited number of seats available at each session. They provide an intimate forum for in-depth conversations and student interaction.
SELECTION PROCESS
- This session is open to FT & EW Kellogg MBA students.
- Your registration indicates your interest to attend.
- 25 Attendees will be selected using a lottery system in accordance with event capacity.
- If randomly selected, you will be notified via email and required to re-confirm that you will attend within 24 hours.
- If you need to cancel your registration, please do so before registration closes
This chat will be held in-person at the Kellogg Global Hub. Once re-confirmed, selected students will receive room location details via an outlook invitation.

Scott is the Managing Partner of High Alpha, a leading venture capital fi rm that launches, scales, and invests in enterprise cloud companies. He serves on the Boards of several portfolio companies, including Zylo and Logik.ai. Prior to High Alpha, Scott co-founded ExactTarget and led the company as CEO and Chairman from start-up to global marketing software leader. ExactTarget went public on the New York Stock Exchange in March of 2012 and was acquired by Salesforce in July of 2013 for $2.5 billion. Post-acquisition, he led the Salesforce Marketing Cloud, which encompassed 3,000 employees around the world.
Scott will speak with 25 students in an off-the-record discussion, where he'll share leadership best practices from his extensive experience.

Scott serves on a number of non-profit boards including as Chairman of Nextech, Executive Committee Member and Past Chair of Indiana Sports Corporation, Board Member of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), Alumni Board Member at The National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), and Global Advisory Board member at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Scott is a business school graduate of Indiana University and earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He was honored to deliver the Undergraduate Commencement Address for Indiana University in May 2024.
