Join Romy Newman ‘02, as she discusses her experience founding Fairygodboss, a venture-backed startup that is now the largest career community for women. Romy became an entrepreneur after 15 years in Corporate America, most recently as the head of Digital Advertising for The Wall Street Journal. She founded Fairygodboss with a former colleague out of their apartments, and after three years and two rounds of fundraising, the company now has 30 employees. In this presentation, Romy will talk about leaving a corporate career for entrepreneurship; what it's like to be a female founder in a traditionally male dominated field; and how her time at Kellogg has impacted her career.

Fairygodboss is the largest career community for women. Fairygodboss provides millions of women with the only crowdsourced database of hard-to-find intel on work-life balance, salary, maternity leave policies, and how companies treat women. Founded by women, for women, Fairygodboss.

Sponsored by the Women’s Leadership Imperative.
