For the first time in human history, cities are home to more than half of the world's population. With their high concentration of human and economic capital, cities are dynamic engines of economic growth and innovation, and have the potential not only to provide opportunity to billions but also to serve as laboratories for solutions to many of humanity's biggest problems. Yet unlocking the potential of cities isn't a given, and there's no guarantee these benefits will be available to all.
