Welcome to the Kellogg Rugby Football ClubThe Kellogg Rugby Football Club (KRFC) is organized and run by graduate MBA students at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. With an active match schedule, the club participates in local league play during the Fall and Spring of each academic year. The team also goes on three tours per year: the MBA USA Rugby Championship at the University of Texas in the Fall, a Bahamas Tour in the Winter, and the MBA Rugby World Championship at Duke University in the Spring. This past season KRFC won the USA Championship and placed 3rd at the World Championship. The club is open to all Kellogg students and alumni, both full and part time, as well as graduate students from other Northwestern University programs. In recent years, the team has attracted a number of students from the NU Law School. Practice is held each week of the academic year on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Practices are held outdoors when the weather cooperates and indoors during the winter months. In recent years, the men's team has varied in size between 35 and 50 members. The KRFC always welcomes new members. Prior rugby experience is not necessary. Typically only about half the team has ever played rugby prior to joining the club. No one is ever put into a game without adequate training and preparation. While we try to win every game we play, the real emphasis of the club is on having fun — an aim we never fail to achieve. If you are interested in joining the KRFC or just have questions, feel free to e-mail John Flinn (jflinn2012@kellogg.northwestern.edu) or any of the other club officers. |
