If you're planning to soak up the sun at an Evanston Beach, remember that a season token or daily token is required for admission during operating hours. One token or daily pass is required per person. A season token is valid for the entire beach season. In 2014, the season began on Sat., May 24. From May 24 through June 6, beach hours are 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. From June 7 through Sept. 1 (Labor Day), beach hours are 10:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Season tokens may be purchased weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave., and at local community centers during their office hours (Robert Crown, Chandler-Newberger, Fleetwood-Jourdain, Levy Senior Centerand Evanston Ecology Center). Cash, personal checks and credit cards are accepted. Free beach days for Evanston residents will be held at Clark Street Beach on Mondays from July 7 through August 25, 2014. 2014 daily beach admission is $8, adult and $6, child age 1-11. MOVIES IN MILLENIUM PARK
Grab a blanket, pack a picnic and join your fellow JVs on the lawn of Millennium Park for an outdoor movie on its state-of-the-art, 40-foot LED screen as part of the Summer Film Series. Join us on JULY 22 at 6:30pm to catch an American Classic - Field of Dreams - under the stars and the Chicago skyline. We'll share a location at the lawn that evening. Students are encouraged to attend this free event. Email us if you plan to attend and we will arrange a place to meet in Evanston, or let you know where we are on the lawn if you want to meet in Chicago. Hope to see you there!
MEET THE INTERNATIONAL 2Y JVS Many international students and their JVs will be comng to Evanston by Wednesday, July 23rd to begin the ACE (American Culture and English) Program. This is a month-long American culture and English program for Kellogg students who have not lived or worked in the US. We would love your help in welcoming them on Monday morning, July 28th, beginning at 8:30am. Many of the ACE JV’s have limited English language so if you speak a language other than English your participation would be greatly appreciated! If you're interested, email us and we'll keep you updated on the details. TRIVIA NIGHT
WORLD OF BEER Tonight, July 2nd 7:00pm For those of you in town (and if you've just moved here) we'll be headed to World of Beer in downtown Evanston on TONIGHT, JULY 2nd to battle it out. We'll be gathering around 7pm and trivia starts at 7:30, but feel free to arrive early and hang out with friends! Even if you can't stay for all of trivia we'd love to see you out.
