God is the cause of all goodness, the creator of all beauty, and the author of all truth. We experience something of the divine when we encounter truth, goodness, or beauty so it only makes sense to seek those things out.
We experience truth in scriptures and collective experiences, through human reason and intuition and conscience. The good students among us are constantly seeking and finding truth through our studies. This is perhaps the most natural way we seek and experience Christ on a daily basis.
We experience goodness through friendships, our own selfless actions and through the lives of holy people. Anyone that has made a substantial sacrifice for someone else by relocating, quitting a job, or donating time to service knows that they do it for something bigger than themselves. Christ is something bigger. Continue to seek and foster goodness in yourself and others.
We experience beauty through nature, art and people. One of my favorite authors thinks the best argument for God’s existence is simply, “there is the music of Bach, therefore there is a God.” Your heart cannot help but jump when your eyes see the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains or the beautiful colors of a sunset. Intuitively you know that something or someone qualitatively different and bigger created this beauty. Again, we do well to recognize that as God.
